FAQ

Got questions?

Find answers to the most common questions about Pulsar AI - how it works, what it extracts from your documents, how we keep your data safe, and how to get started.

General

Pulsar AI is an intelligent industrial maintenance platform that automatically extracts knowledge from your technical documentation - such as machine manuals, schematics, and error code lists - and transforms it into structured, searchable maintenance procedures. Technicians can then find solutions to machine problems in seconds using natural language or voice search, instead of flipping through hundreds of pages of PDF manuals.

Pulsar AI is designed for manufacturing companies, industrial plants, and maintenance teams who manage complex machinery and rely on extensive technical documentation. Whether you are a maintenance manager looking to reduce downtime, a plant director aiming to preserve institutional knowledge, or an operations leader driving digital transformation - Pulsar AI is built for you.

No. Pulsar AI is designed for maintenance professionals, not IT specialists. You upload your documents, and the AI handles the rest - extracting problems, solutions, error codes, spare parts, and schematics automatically. The search interface supports natural language and even voice input, so technicians on the shop floor can use it hands-free.

Unlike generic AI assistants or simple document search tools, Pulsar AI deeply understands the structure of industrial maintenance documentation. It doesn't just search text - it identifies machine problems, maps them to solutions, extracts error codes, links spare parts, and traces electrical schematics. Every answer comes with citations back to the original document, so you always know where the information came from. It also supports voice interaction for hands-free use on the shop floor.

Pulsar AI currently supports Czech, Slovak, and English - both for document processing and for the user interface, including voice input and output.

Documents & Data

Pulsar AI works with any type of document - PDF, DOCX, scanned images, and more. These cover technical manuals, maintenance guides, error code lists, electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, and parts catalogs. The system processes documents up to 220 MB in size.

The AI automatically identifies and extracts: maintenance procedures and troubleshooting steps, error codes and their definitions, spare parts with part numbers and specifications, electrical schematics and component references, mechanical drawings and tolerances, problem descriptions and root causes, and cross-references between document sections.

Yes. Pulsar AI uses advanced visual AI to analyze electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, and technical diagrams - not just plain text. It can identify components, trace circuits, extract part numbers from drawings, and link diagram references to maintenance procedures.

When you upload a document, Pulsar AI runs it through an 8-stage processing pipeline: text and image extraction, semantic embedding generation, maintenance event mapping, problem consolidation, procedure synthesis, step enrichment with parts and error codes, and final validation. The entire process is automated - you simply upload the file and Pulsar does the rest.

Yes. Pulsar AI processes documents in Czech, Slovak, and English. It correctly handles diacritics, technical terminology, and language-specific formatting.

AI & Intelligence

Pulsar AI is powered by state-of-the-art large language models optimized for industrial use - one for deep complex analysis and another for fast real-time processing. For semantic search, we use high-dimensional vector embeddings that enable the system to understand meaning, not just keywords. Voice features are powered by dedicated speech-to-text and text-to-speech models for hands-free operation on the shop floor.

When a technician asks a question - by typing or speaking - Pulsar AI converts the question into a semantic vector and searches across all problems, solutions, components, error codes, spare parts, and document citations. This means you don't need to know the exact terminology from the manual. For example, asking "motor overheats during startup" will find relevant solutions even if the manual describes it as "thermal protection triggered on drive initialization."

Both. Pulsar AI first searches your knowledge base using semantic similarity. If matching problems and solutions exist, it returns them with full source citations. It can also synthesize new maintenance procedures from multiple documents, enriching each step with relevant components, spare parts, and cross-references.

Every AI-generated solution includes citations linking back to the exact source documents and passages. Additionally, Pulsar AI includes an approval workflow - maintenance supervisors can review, approve, modify, or reject AI-generated procedures before they become part of the active knowledge base. You are always in control.

Yes. As your team reviews AI-generated content, provides feedback, and adds their own solutions, the knowledge base grows richer and more accurate. Technicians can record voice feedback on procedures, suggest modifications, and document their own fixes, which all contribute to a continuously improving system.

Security & Data Privacy

Absolutely. Security is a core priority. All data is stored in a dedicated PostgreSQL database with enterprise-grade encryption. Access is controlled through JWT token authentication with automatic token rotation. Passwords are hashed using Argon2 - the most secure hashing algorithm available. All production traffic is encrypted with HTTPS and HSTS.

No. Each customer's data is completely isolated. Your documents, machine knowledge, and maintenance procedures are never shared with, accessible to, or visible to any other customer.

No. Your data is used exclusively to build your own maintenance knowledge base. It is never used to train or fine-tune the underlying AI models. All AI processing is covered by enterprise data processing agreements that prohibit the use of customer data for model training.

Yes. Pulsar AI includes a comprehensive role-based access system with 14 predefined roles tailored to industrial maintenance teams - from Admin and Manager to Technician, Electrician, CNC Operator, Maintenance Planner, and more. User accounts are created by administrators through a secure invitation process, and access can be revoked at any time.

Your data is stored on secure servers within your deployment environment. Pulsar AI supports both cloud deployment and on-premise installation behind your company VPN, giving you full control over where your data resides.

Your data belongs to you. You can export your knowledge base at any time. When a contract ends, your data is securely deleted from our systems.

Machines & Equipment

Each machine in your facility gets its own dedicated knowledge profile containing all related problems, solutions, error codes, components, spare parts, electrical circuits, and linked documentation. Machines can be grouped so that common issues and solutions are shared across similar equipment.

Yes. Pulsar AI is machine-agnostic - it works with any industrial equipment, from CNC machines and robotic cells to HVAC systems, conveyor lines, and electrical panels. The system adapts to whatever documentation you provide.

Pulsar AI supports machine groups. When machines share the same model or configuration, solutions found for one machine can be automatically applied to all related machines in the group. This eliminates duplicate work and ensures consistent maintenance procedures across your fleet.

Yes. In addition to AI-extracted procedures, technicians can add their own step-by-step solutions, upload photos and videos of repairs, record voice notes, and even capture machine sounds for diagnostic purposes. This preserves the invaluable hands-on knowledge your team has built over years.

Implementation & Getting Started

You can start seeing value within days. Upload your first set of machine manuals, and Pulsar AI will begin extracting structured knowledge immediately. The more documents you add, the richer your knowledge base becomes.

No. Pulsar AI works with your documents as they are. Whether you have perfectly formatted manuals or scanned PDFs with mixed text and images, the system's hybrid processing mode handles both text-based and visual content extraction.

Yes. We offer a pilot program where you can test Pulsar AI with a selection of your own machines and documents. This lets you evaluate the results with your actual data and workflows before making a broader commitment.

We provide full onboarding support, including initial document upload assistance, system configuration, and user training. Our team is available to help you get the most out of Pulsar AI from day one.
